Homemade Granola & It’s 3 Delicious Variations

Eating nice, healthy breakfasts are a big part of having a good lifestyle. Having said that on most days I feel like I wake up and start my day in a rush. And that somehow ends up taking a toll on what I eat in the morning. So to keep my health in check I recently started preparing Homemade Granola. It’s yummy, healthy and works best for days when I seem to have no time to cook and eat my breakfast.

I usually like to have my homemade granola with a bowl of Greek yogurt and fruits. But this deliciousness can be eaten in more than one way. You could add some to your morning cereal or just pack some as an on-the-go snack. And you know it even tastes yum with a bowl full of ice cream, so sometimes as a dessert topping too. You could even sprinkle it over chocolate dipped fruits. If you like me have trouble eating bananas or even apples, try having it dipped in chocolate and decorated with granola.

So…let’s get started on how to make 3 different kinds of homemade granola.

1. Honey Almond Granola

Ingredients

  • Oats 2 Cups
  • Almonds 1 Cup
  • Honey 1/4 Cup
  • Butter 2 Tbsp
  • Vanilla Extract 1 Tsp

Preparation

Step 1

In a bowl, mix together the dry ingredients (oats and almonds) and keep aside.

Step 2

In a saucepan, heat the honey, brown sugar, butter and vanilla extract for at least 1-2 minutes. You’ll notice it starts bubbling. As soon as that happens, turn it off and pour the hot mixture over the dry ingredients mixed in Step 1. Mix it to coat well.

Step 3

Bake the coated granola in an oven at 350°F (175°C), for about 25-30 minutes. Stir every 10 minutes. Once ready, eat with a bowl of Greek yogurt, some fruits, nuts and seeds. Store the rest in an air tight container.
